As vast as the sky, and deep as the ocean. Thats the love I need, the love I desire, the love I crave.
“As the Father loves me, I have loved you.”
This is a statement I’ve heard a million times, part of Jesus’ last words to his disciples in John 15. But I have many times, passed these words without a second thought, or even a pause.
Today something shifted, as the Spirit began to open my brain, experiencing His love, and what these words truly mean.
- Can you imagine the amount of love that the Father has? He is infinite. He is more vast than the ocean, and more mysterious than every galaxy. He is LIMITLESS in His love, and in everything He does. There is nothing that compares to His passion, His adoration, His attention. Do you think that when Jesus was on earth, the Father was watching His every move? Paying attention to His every prayer, and cry. Imagine how much He loved Jesus. Jesus was His sacrifice. When you sacrifice something, it is deeply painful in one of two ways.. You either needed it for livelihood (money/food/home), or you LOVED this thing the very most, more than anything else. You FEEL giving up a sacrifice, otherwise it would not be labeled as such.
- When Jesus says I love you, as the Father loves me. He is saying He loves you with an infinite, passionate love. He is comparing His love for us to how much the Father loved Him. There are times in scripture where the Father bellows out from the heavens, and rumbles the earth as He screams “This is my son, with whom I am well pleased!” He couldn’t hold it in any longer, He just had to scream out His love for Jesus, over the earth and to any being with ears.
- This love is like an earthquake each time you discover another depth of it. Its forgiveness, mercy, compassion.. This love is endless and it is aimed right at you. It is looking you in the eyes, begging for you to open up, to let it be felt. You’ve never known a bigger advocate for yourself, someone with more confidence in your calling, and your dreams. This is the love we all crave, and we all have an open door to. It is life changing, heart mending, fiery and a passionate love beyond compare.
And this, is only the beginning of its depths. Will you let it be felt?
