This blog may possibly be one of the most rash I have written, and for that-I don’t apologize.
I am tired, and angry at a trick that I have seen rising.. The trick of secrecy and isolation. Over the past two weeks, with timidity, I have started to open up about the deepest corners of my testimony. Much to my surprise, finding instead of the lecture, or letting someone down… I was never alone in the first place, most people I have spoken to went through the exact experiences I did. Yet, as christians so many times our guilt, and pride keep us from sharing our issues, we feel like we’re the only ones falling to temptation. That if we actually let anyone in on our problems, it would somehow taint the name of GOD.. (GOD… I honestly think He can maintain His own reputation and if you know that already.. then its most likely pride you’re struggling with.)
This is the beginning of my stand against one of the devil’s ultimate tricks, the ones we’ve all dealt with. The lies that if let go are the main culprit of depression, and suicide. You are alone in this trial and because you have failed ,you have no purpose. You’re no longer good enough. As if we were good enough in the first place? Did we not have to be bought for the ultimate price, isn’t that the beauty of our Savior? He loves us even though we come no where close to deserving it. Lets check out how we know these are lies of the nasty snake himself..
Take 1 Peter 5:8-11 for instance..
“Be of sober spirit, be on alert. Your adversary, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. But resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same experiences of suffering are being accomplished by your brethren who are in the world.” We are clearly being told- YOU AREN’T ALONE, someone else is dealing with this very thing! Which is why we should talk about our lives, confessing, admitting to one another, even the deepest pains, regrets, and temptation. When you confess you don’t only realize your not alone, but you may help someone else by taking the first step. (James 5:16)
Now, I’m not telling you to go blab it on the streets, but with someone you’re close to.
Solomon tells us in Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 “Two are better than one because they have a good return for their labor. For if either of them falls, the one will lift up his companion. But woe to the one who falls when there is not another to lift him up.”
Lets stop blatantly falling to satan’s tricks and lies. Let me go ahead and say, You AREN’T alone. If you didn’t have a purpose, God wouldn’t have bothered with creating you in the first place!
So this is what I’m saying if you’re going through something.. talk about it.. and not here in the comment box. Face to face with someone.
And if you have a dirty past that you came out of, for goodness sakes, suck up your pride and share it! It could save someone’s life for eternity.
